Do I have to get more than one estimate for my insurance company?

No. An auto collision is stressful enough. Missouri law states that you only need one estimate of repairs, and Don's Body Shop will negotiate with your insurance company on your behalf.


How long will my vehicle repair take? Do I need a rental car?

How long your repair takes will of course vary from customer to customer. We know your time is valuable. Once you receive an estimate on your repairs, we will tell you the number of days the repair will take. You will need to check your insurance policy to see if you have rental car coverage. We partner with rental car agencies and can arrange to have a rental car pick you up at our location. If you don't have coverage, we are offered discounted rates and will pass those savings on to you.


Can I get a ride home after dropping off my car?

Yes, we provide pick-up and drop-off service.


Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?

Yes. Don's Body Shop guarantees all repairs with a Lifetime Warranty.


Do I have to pay a deductible?

Deductibles are determined by you and your insurance company. They are required by law to be paid to us. The deductible is normally paid at the time of pickup and prepaid when dropping off the vehicle.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, personal check and cash.


What are "betterment" charges?

Certain parts wear out over time and use. Parts such as tires, batteries and suspension parts are usually subject to betterment charges when they are replaced. These charges are determined by your insurance company, and are pro-rated based on actual miles on your vehicle.


Where do I get my claim number?

When you contact your insurance company, they will assign a claim number. Once you get this number, please write it down and call us at (314) 429-2094. One of our friendly staff members will walk you through the process of getting your vehicle repaired. We will handle your insurance claim for any additional work that may not have been found initially.


Will the parts be ordered before I drop off my vehicle?

Yes. We want to return your vehicle as quickly as possible. This helps shorten the length of time for the repair.


Can you match a specific paint color?

Yes. Don's Body Shop has made a major investment in the finest paint system available and constantly upgrades its technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle's paint matches. Matching factory finishes is the final step in the restoration process.


What is Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)?

Paintless dent repair provides a less expensive solution to repairing door dings, hail damage, shopping cart crashes and things of that nature. It also takes less time, so your vehicle can be back to you quicker.


If the frame of my vehicle is damaged, is it a total loss?

No. The only time a vehicle is a total loss is when the price of the repair exceeds the insurance company's determined value of your vehicle.


Can I wash my car?

Within the first 30 days, we recommend that you wash your vehicle by hand, using only cool water, a very mild car wash solution and a soft cloth or sponge. We also recommend that you do this in the shade and always use clean water in order to protect your new paint job. Do not use a commercial car wash for 90 days.

Also in the first 30 days, we recommend avoiding gravel roads, parking under trees and utility lines--they attract birds and tree sap. During the winter time, do not scrape ice or snow from a newly painted surface.
